Childbirth Education

Our childbirth education classes provide a pregnant woman and her support person with factual information, emotional support, and techniques designed to help her cope with the sensations of labor.

The childbirth instructor provides support and guidance in an environment that increases self-confidence and awareness. The instructor also works to encourage open channels of communication between pregnant women and their health care providers.

Classes also provide parents-to-be with the opportunity to meet other expectant couples and to discuss the many choices available in childbirth today. The class also includes a tour of the labor and delivery facility at Potomac Hospital.
